JBoss AS 7 comes with new features, great performance, a completely new and modular design and a simplified management system. This presentation provides an introduction to the motivations for the work behind AS7, the achieved results and the reasons why final users should use it and are loving it since the beginning. The speech will be given in Italian.
This talk is about the JBossWS project which provides web services functionalities in JBoss AS 7. A special focus is put on the Apache CXF integration, that serves as the core of the WS module. The speech will be given in Italian.
Alessio Soldano graduated with a degree in Computer Science Engineering from 'Politecnico di Milano'. He appreciated Java since the first time he used it at the university while playing with early webservice implementations. In 2004 he started working on distributed systems in the financial/credit field and fell in love with JBoss. After years of practice with J2EE, he got the chance to deal with webservices again, contributed to JBossWS finding and fixing some bugs. He finally joined JBoss (a division of Red Hat) at the end of 2007 to work full time on the webservice project, currently serving as its lead. He also contributes to JBoss AS and JBoss Wise (which he founded years ago with a friend and recently donated to JBoss). Starting from 2009, Alessio represents Red Hat Middleware on JSR-224 'JavaTM API for XML-Based Web Services (JAX-WS) 2.0' expert group. Alessio is also part of and representing Red Hat at the W3C Web Services Resource Access Working Group. Finally, Alessio is also committer and PMC member of the Apache CXF webservice project.
